How many people can play guitar hero in one game?

My friends tell me that I should get atleast 4 controllers for my guitar hero party, but others say that it’s only a two player game, so buying more than two guitars would be foolish. Any guitar hero experts out there?

1As far as I know, you can only play two controllers on one game, unless you have more than one TV and console, then you can hook up more than 2. If you find out how to hook up 4, then by all means let me know. Cheers!

2only 2 is max… cos there i only 2 categories in each song like bass and lead etc etc or if u duel only 2 ppl can i tired

3you can only play two players unless you have another system.
