It might not be your style but if you are getting used to basic chords and a good song to do that is…..
Sea of Love- Cat Power’s version.

Well personally i don’t play guitar, but i lovedave matthews band which is more alternative rock if there is such a name. they have a great guitarist and maybe you will feel a spark if you ever listen to them. so go to itunes or if your a bad girl like me go to limewire and type them in and listen to pig, crash into me, idea of you, and such. upbeat and fun. enjoy !
It’s probably not your style but I like playing Taylor Swift songs when I just feel like playing. They’re pretty easy so you can just play for fun or sing along if you want to. There’s fast and slow songs. So you can play what you feel like playing.
I hope I helped even though it isn’t rock music. Sorry. I don’t listen to a lot of rock.
I love playing tom petty stuff, there are some really simple 2 to 3 chord tunes of his that are great to play. Also I would say jam with other people who are better or as good as yourself, especially people who are better. I have friends who are much better at guitar than me, i do alright in my opinion, but if i get together and jam with them i think it makes me a better player, because if i pay attention i can usually keep up with what they play. As for tom petty tunes i was talking about i really like Mary Jane’s last dance. have fun.

6I would recommend starting out with something simple like Stairway to Heaven. That’s a good song to practice, especially on an acoustic guitar.

11Acoustic Led zeppelin…
It starts like “Hey lady, you got the love I need…” after some finger plucking and strumming- If you can’t remember the tune.
“Over the Hills and Far Away”
It’s one of their better acoustic intros
Fun to play
