I’ve had my Taylor 814ce since 2006. When do I need to get it a set up? how do u know when it needs a set up? the action seems fine, it plays really well.. should i still bring it in to my local music store to get a set up and have it checked out?
This may depend on how your guitar is stored during the year. Do you use a case humidifier? In areas with wildly varying changes in temp and humidity I recommend once or twice a year. If the guitar’s action and playability haven’t changed, no sharp fret ends, then you are probably fine for now. This is a relatively expensive guitar and it wouldn’t hurt to at least have it inspected every year or two.
